Our Mission

The mission of Charitable Ladies is to help charitable organizations obtain their goals by hosting events that generate financial support, community awareness, energy and excitement for their causes.

Our History

Charitable Ladies hosted its first event in 2000, when 12 girlfriends gathered over food and wine for a holiday soiree. In the spirit of counting their blessings, the original Ladies pulled together a little more than $300 that evening to purchase Christmas gifts and bikes for a family sponsored by Any Baby Can. An Austin nonprofit, Any Baby Can ensures that children reach their potential through education, therapy and family support services. The success of that evening sparked a desire amongst the Charitable Ladies to become catalysts for social change by creating new opportunities for the community to support local charities.  Each year since then, the Charitable Ladies Holiday Night has raised funds to fulfill the holiday wish lists of families sponsored by Any Baby Can.

In 2007, Charitable Ladies decided to broaden its mission and become advocates for other deserving organizations in need of financial assistance and community awareness. The inaugural event for this higher mission was Derby Day 2007, which benefited two area charities: The Brighter Days Horse Refuge, an equine rescue facility that provides shelter and care for rescued horses, and Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K.), which utilizes equine-based hippotherapy in its programs for children with special needs. Derby Day attracted hundreds of charitable guests to celebrate and watch the live telecast of the Kentucky Derby and generated over $6,500 for our two charities.

We continued broadening our mission in the Fall of 2007, by teaming up with LEAP – LifeWorks Executives And Professionals for The White Party. This wildly successful event netted $28,000 for LifeWorks, a local organization dedicated to transitioning youth & families from crisis to safety & success. Specifically, funding the furnishings for the new Mom & Babies wing & Emergency Shelter.

Each year we strive to grow our network of resources and achieve new goals that we have set for ourselves.  We are deeply grateful to the individuals who dedicate their time and donations so that we can continue with our mission of supporting charities in our community.
